Get ready for the 2021 Kaw Valley Farm Tour on October 2 and 3! Get outside and experience the diversity of agriculture along the Kaw River Valley. We have farms raising everything from alpacas to zucchini. There are farms that specialize in livestock production, some in fruits and vegetables, and many that do a bit of everything. The tour has 11 vineyards and wineries, so it is a great opportunity to experience a variety of northeast Kansas wines.

This is a self-guided tour so you can choose whatever types of farms interest you. One $10 ticket will give a carload of people access to over 30 different locations to explore. A great opportunity to learn about how different food and fiber is produced. Sample products, learn from producers about how they grow, or just relax in the peace of the country, there is fun and activities for all ages. Many farms provide onsite dining options, so you can eat while you are on the tour and also stock up on food for after the tour. Bring a cooler along to bring home perishable treats.

BarnThis year we are again collaborating with the Douglas County Heritage Conservation Council to provide stops for the Agricultural Heritage Tour, where you can learn about the history of farming in the area. Stops include the Barnes Farmhouse and Apple Barn in Vinland, the Vinland Grange Hall, the Baldwin Pioneer Cemetery, and more.

You can find more information about each of the farms or purchase tickets online at www.kawvalleyfarmtour.org. You can also purchase tickets at any of the farm stops on the weekend of the tour. The website will also have any information about new COVID restrictions or procedures, so be sure to check it out before you head off on the tour.
