Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners are people who love to garden, learn about gardening, and share what they learn with others. We are a community of gardeners who share a curiosity for learning, a passion for conservation, and a sense of obligation to enrich our community through outreach, education, and beautification.

Volunteer Presenters

2024 Extension Master Gardener Monthly Education Programs

All programs start at 10:15 am and are approximately 1 hour long. All programs are free and open to the public and are held in the North room of the Dreher 4-H Family Building on the Douglas County fairgrounds. Recordings can be found on our YouTube channel.

Advanced Education Offerings

These programs are held monthly at 10:15am in the Dreher 4-H Family Building, North Room, 2110 Harper Street, Lawrence KS 66049 and are open to the public.

May 18th - Saturday- Phenology-Climate Change and Plants with Dr. Vara Prasad

June 12th - Wednesday- Preparing Entries for the DGCO Fair with Shawn Turner

July 20th - Saturday- TBD

August 21st - Wednesday- Penstemon Species Evolution and Pollinators with Lena Hileman

September 21st- Saturday- The Art Gardening/Monet Style with Gale McRoberts

October 16th - Wednesday- Chestnuts with Charles NovoGradac and Deborah Milks
